Keith Sandow
Rev. Timothy Keith Sandow hails from Stone Mountain, Georgia. He studied music at Delta State University in Cleveland, Mississippi, and was involved in music, youth, and singles ministries before attending the Candler School of Theology at Emory University in Atlanta.
Keith had the rare privilege of studying under the late Archbishop Desmond Tutu and interning for President Jimmy Carter in the Inter-Faith and Health Department of the Carter Center in Atlanta. These opportunities left a profound impression upon him about the difference we can make on this blue planet when celebrating our sacred worth and committing ourselves towards justice and human flourishing.
After completing his studies at Candler in 1999, Keith accepted an internship with the British Methodist Church in Manchester. Two years later he felt called to permanently transfer into the British Methodist Church and was ordained in 2002 and became a UK citizen in 2017.
Keith’s companion is an adorable Fox Red Labrador named Beau who loves everyone, especially those with treats.
Conversation will probably involve his fascination with “gadgets” – Anything from photography, drones and VR headsets to kitchen appliances. He can’t wait to take a few coastal walks with others to capture the beauty of the Island.
Keith hobbies include making bespoke geometric terrariums, working with stained glass and fusing glass in his kiln. He hopes to meet other enthusiasts to learn more or to be joined by others who simply want to have a go at something new.
He is a keen cook and looks forward to offering hospitality at the manse and elsewhere. He is always up for discovering new local restaurants too.
Spiritual life is central to Keith’s ministry. Keith passionately believes that our earthly task is to recognise our full humanity, our beautiful uniqueness, and our place in this remarkable and wondrous world. More so, to know that we are loved by our Creator. Through the grace of Jesus Christ, we wake up each day, giving thanks for our gift of life and ready to joyfully respond to God’s love through the opportunities to serve others.
Keith is excited to work alongside a dynamic team of staff and volunteers at the Centre and at St. Martin’s, Ebenezer, and the other circuit churches. He is most eager to get to know people and participate in the exciting events and customs in Jersey.
